Book this and Book that, the marketing favourite amongst the techiest pr departments continues as we see LG introduce the ‘WIDEBOOK™’ in reference to the laptop’s cinematic intentions. There are set to be 5 different models in the series, each sporting a choice of three core colours (Black/White/Pink) and range from affordable workhorses to premium performance.
Bundled with the series is a so called smart pack, which includes a customizable quick-launch feature called Smart Indicator that helps the user set up a list of frequently used functions for quick and easy access, also bundled is Smart Care and Smart Recovery which provide additional intelligent diagnosis and repair of system errors. The most note worthy of these features is called Smart On, this feature enables the machine to boot within five seconds and enable the user to access commonly-used apps such as the web browser, messenger, games, photo viewer and the MP3 player.
The WIDEBOOK™ series is available in various screen sizes, with the R580 and R560 boasting a 15.6” display while the R480 and R460 units include a 14” screen and the diminutive R380 packs a 13.3” panel. The R580 and R480 are positioned as premium models and sport a stylish design, while the R560 and R460 are reliable everyday workhorses and the R380 offers a blend of performance at an affordable price.
